I was so happy to hear of a new fabric shop opening that is to specialise in knit fabrics, and even happier to be asked to test some of the lovely fabric.
You really can't go wrong with mustard and navy stripes can you, and I love how my Jennifer Lauren Handmade Gable dress turned out using amazing mustard and navy striped French Terry fabric from Pin and Sew.
I have recorded a video to tell and show you all about the fabric and pattern, along with some hints and tips on working with French Terry, so be sure to check out the video below.
Some of the things that I refer to during the video are shown below
- Wonder clips - great to use instead of pins on knit fabric
- Seraflock thread - make a stretchy hem without a overstitch machine or twin needle
- Chalk wheel - trace around your pattern piece rather than using pins
- My Body Model - a croquis made to your body measurements
What I love about Pin and Sew is that they include really useful information about the fabric especially the percentage of stretch, so that you can be sure that the fabric of choice is suitable for your project.
Here are a few more pictures to show you how the dress turned out.
I hope that you like my Gable dress as much as I do and thanks again to Pin and Sew for asking me to test some of their lovely fabric.
Aga from Pin and Sew has Kindly given a discount code that can be used to get 15% discount on any fabric, and its valid until 8pm 23rd July 2018.
Thanks for reading / watching and I can't wait to share another make with you very soon!
